FREE Riding, Uplift & Food Open 5 days/week in 2011

Reopen 2nd April – Wed to Sun 9.30am - 5pm. Amazing news for all riders – after some serious negotiations with the planners and the Forestry Commission, Ukbikepark will now be open 5 days a week, totally FREE to ride with a new uplift service with hot food, bike spares & bike hire every day.

2011 is going to be a massive year of change for Ukbikepark as we totally redesign the infrastructure and trails. Finally the cabin will be moved & renovated, car park created, new uplift route & vehicles, BIG redevelopment of the bottom bowl and lots of new trails to suit all riders.

Uplift - We're aiming to have the new uplift route which will run within the park boundaries up and running by the reopening date on 2nd April. The uplift will pick you up directly from the bottom bowl and drop you off a few meters from the start platform, the uplift route is only a third of the old route (with no scary corners!) we anticipate a really fast turn around time as we're using 17 seater minibuses coupled to a smaller version our famous scratch free bike trailers. We estimate we could do 10 runs an hour – depends on how fast you guys can get your bikes on & off! Single run to all day tickets will be available £ price to be announced.

Trails – as well as redeveloping all the existing trails expect to see a wide range of new trails this year from super wide, safe & easy trails suitable for beginners, to fast fun trails with tons of jumps, drops and berms. The bottom bowl will go extreme with massive step ups, wall rides, drops, dirt jumps, road gaps and more all culminating with a proper finish line & arena.

Facilities – the cabin will get a huge face lift after it has been moved into the woods. A third bigger, the cabin will have wrap around raised decking, more seating, larger kitchen with a wider range of food, a mini bike shop plus bike hire including KMX Karts. The new car park and toilet block will also be in the woods, a short walk from the cabin.

Events – 2011 will see a temporary reduction of our normal racing and big events as we need to spend time building. Currently we are holding only one DH race this year which will be the Southern champs on 12th June. Smaller regular events however, are being planned such as a informal evening race series, regular ladies days and kids training days.

All other race dates previously announced including the final round of the winter series is now cancelled.

Cant't wait until it opens, never been before so looking forward to it.

After seeing some clips of the park, the main improvements look to be the new 17 seater minibus

Defo up for a day trip there in april ;)

Great update!

Wow all that stuff sounds amazing. Im glad i got to ride the truck a couple times - just for the experience but it was dam slow sweaty and uncomfortable - (10 runs an hour!) Wow so getting 30-40 runs or so in a day could be realistic what with faffing around and stuff - that would be epic!

The trip we did last year was really good fun http://www.youtube.com/v/FGmoavE5IOk&hd=1

Ive done it a couple times as a day trip too
