Well I tried the rum and it didn't work. Infact it has had a negative affect of giving me a head ache! Maybe I'll try the sleep option next lol.

Medically speaking protein aids muscle recovery, so protein shakes, meat, milk are al good (meat is a bit slower at releasing protien). But I always go with hot shower, ice packs wrapped in a towel (so you don't freeze the skin cells) for 10 mins at at time, and if its really painful ibuprofen and/or paracetamol with red wine.
If its really really bad a volterol suppository does the trick, although I've not got to that stage yet.
