Just because I know there are MTBers in Thurrock I thought I'd let people know that providing it's dryish tomorrow night I'll be leaving the Bannatynes Car Park at 7pm.

I'll head over and through the Davy Down, through Aveley/Belhus, into Belhus Country park, over into Berwick Wood, into Hornchurch Country Park, into Rainham, over Rainham marshes, along the Thames and through the Purfleet RSPB reserve, through Purfleet, up through Lakeside and back to Bannatynes.

The trip is about 18 miles but it totally roll-able.

It would normally take me about 90 mins to do it so I would imagine it wouldn't take longer than 2 hours if others wanted to join (others may even make me faster...).

There are sections of road but nothing that is ever too busy!

Lights are a must - I've only git cheep ones...

Here's their address: Bannatyne's Health Club, Howard Road, Chafford Hundred, Essex, RM16 6YJ. Not sure if they will moan about parking... I've never given them my car reg... but then I'm only two miles away so I'll just ride there

Sure thing! Get yourself down to Decathlon if you're on a budget - that's where I got all my first stuff from :)

You've got the idea... go find some roadworks and 'appropriate' some flashing lights...
