Bamsh Racing added. These were more difficult to apply than you would think due to the curved surface and the words straight edges. There are ways to make it work but it's still not easy.

The bottom hlf of the sheds have now been added. The next step is to finish the peaks and tidy up a few bits of overspray and then take it to the shop to get clear coated.

Very cool Greg, is that just masking tape used for the sheds?

Is that a red bull style helmet in the background? ;)

Thanks guys. Jon many people don't realise how much goes into airbrushing helmets including design, time, effort, knowledge and skill. I think part of why I'm posting this step by step is to educate people not only on how it's done but to appreciate why this and so much other art costs what it does. I do often hear people say why does it cost so much telling them what''s involved opens their eyes a bit.
Thanks Joel now stop annoying me lol ;)
Bradley no it's both and maybe. 8-)
Anyhow enough of the writing and more of the pictures.
Now it was onto the peaks, as there were 2 and in Joel's words "I'm a bit accident prone" I'm going to do 2 identical ones. Here I've shown some masking as well as the finished pieces. Notice the part shed on the white bit of the peak well that was to line up with a shed on the helmet. This was a little bit extra work but worth it as it shows quality and attention to detail in the work.

More angles.
Now I know Joel loves his sheds and the more the better but looking at it I think any more may be too cluttered. Let me know your opinions.
The next step is the cool one and one that you won't see well until it is clear coated. Joel knows what it is but you will have to wait until the next thrilling instalment! :D 8-)

@ 6:38 ;)

That helmets gunna take a beating - I think it should have "tuck and roll" on it somewhere

Maybe it could take a couple more little sheds but its great as it is - depends on what the next magic step is really

Looking great Greg and the secret final bit will be awesome.

Shed-wise the only two areas are

1) Maybe a black shed below the white one on the back, between the two vents!

2) Not sure what it looks like from the top as often that is what shows up in photos - is there a big black section which could maybe do with a couple of sheds!

Final bit is what about under the peak (not where you are putting the date but actually on the helmet) would be cool to have bamsh racing on there in the same style as the back but smaller.

Cheers
Joel
