Light armour is all thats required at chicksands usually

as ian says its soft there by and large

I've never bothered with Elbow pads, although there is a minute amount of padding in the jersey i wear anyway.

i have a 661 assault pressure suit that i wear, i got it because i used to fall a fair bit at Danbury on my old bike LOL

I always wear some form of padding......
Mainly because IF i do some damage to MY body IM the one who has to live with it.
Do what ever makes you feel comfortable & confident :thumbup:
