Personally I liked the old Esher so I was sad to see that go - but usage was low - so credit to him for looking to try something new.
From what ive read and from chats with Rob I think the DJ's were a total bugger to maintain - they flooded and got mashed and spent a lot of the time in an un-ridable state. Thus the move to pump track.
With the terrain on offer (postage stamp) , and having to work with a variety of local authorities while keeping the users happy, he's done a really good job over the years. I hope he keeps trying to get it to work.
