Not feeling the love for the British made Hope's :D

Anyway, just refreshing the thread as am looking for a second set, and getting a matching casette.

Aside from the usual places, has anyone found any good deals recently? I currently run Stans Flows on Evo2's.

I'll go check out Superstar, but if anyone knows a good set going second hand, a pm would be grand.

Cheers

I have a pair of DT Swiss and the freewheel is super easy (and tool free) to service, but the rest of the wheels can be a bit of pain.

There are a whole ton of 2012 Mavic Crossride's reduced as the 2013's are now in full swing.

I do. Done 600 -700 miles on them and the bearings need sorting now. The seal between the freehub and the hub body isn't the greatest and the alloy of the freehub is pretty soft as I have notching on the splines despite having an SRAM cassette with an alloy spider torqued up correctly.
Other than that, they're really easy to service and 'average' bearing issue can be sorted out with some SKF bearings and Superstar do sell the steel freehub (or you may be able to find another seller as there are just rebranded Novatech hubs), which would add a little weight but sort out the notching.

Does anybody know any Essex local wheel builders that may also undertake cosmetic repair (rim respray and decal replace)?

Yep, sound chap, if I get the wheels on Ebay that I am after he'll service them, but talked me out of major cosmetic work as when all is said and done, may as well buy new. Perhaps I should stop being so tight and buy some new ones....Superstar. :-)

I could paint a pair of wheels for you, unless you want them enamelled? or i can get them anodized if they're aluminium no idea on the price for anodising though as i haven't done that in years, the place is just up the road from me though !
