Having been ill forever and in a desperate attempt to get some fitness back, I’ll be doing an Epping ride on Thursday night. The ground may well have hardened up by then but no guarantees.

Meet: Stubbles Car Park Car park is at the T-junction of Nursery Road and Connaught Avenue

Ride Time: 8pm
Ride Duration: Normally 1-1.5 hours
Pace: Ill be going slow and complaining about not being fit a lot!
Everyone welcome - let me know if you'll be there.

You're probably still fitter than me, but if you can hold on until 8:15 then I reckon I can get there. I'm working in Woking and relying on 3 trains and a bus to get home to Waltham Abbey, then I'll have to cycle back practically all the way to the bloody station again !!, have a mate on here who is also interested.

I'd love to go for a night ride, but I haven't got a proper light to do it.

Was hoping to go into our Vauxhall office tomorrow but due to an "incident" involving a helicopter hitting the road about 100 yards from our biulding, everyone was evacuated today and we're not allowed in tomorrow either so I'm definitely going to Woking. So Karve if you're still going out message me your mobile number as I'll know pretty early on if I'm going to be able to get home in time to get back out. If I can't make it I'll let you know. "Olive" is my mate and he's in Buck Hill - so a lot closer.

I have few lights but I don't think they can handle even if I put all them together, if you have one that could lend me I'll be there. Thanks Karve

Excellent - it's gonna be cold!!

Karve - I've messaged you with my mobile so you'll know it's me if I have to bail due to delays getting home.

My mate Olive says he's coming too.

Well despite the huffing and puffing, I did actually enjoy the ride - thanks for leading us around Karve. Had to bail out as you know due to that problem with my rear hub. The weird thing about it is that it was running fine, then I laid my bike down whilst Decoxx sorted his cable issue, then when I picked it back up - no drive at all - completely free spinning hub (in both directions) - anyway as my route home is pretty much all downhill I didn't have to walk far, but as I was walking up honey lane my leg caught the pedal and it didn't spin, so I got back on and managed to pedal all the way home from there. Really weird, but obviously needs some investigation! As for my handlebar light - I've just realised that because my headlight was intermittent on the way up to meet you I had the handlebar light on full beam for at least half an hour before we actually started the ride, so I think it just died due to the fact that it wasn't fully charged and it was bloody freezing. Anyway, it hasn't put me off so hopefully once the bike is sorted I'll be out again.

**** Update ****
Freehub needs some attention. It's still gunked up from the "Vicar of Dibbley" puddle which turned out to be crossbar deep, but also has a pathetic spring and a pin missing! ... which looks like it's always been missing. So it's in the capable hands of Dan at Stanley Bridge.
