Just stumbled upon this site today - didn't realise things had taken off so much in Essex and surrounding area.
Used to spend all my time in the late 80's & all through the 90's riding round Langdon hills / One Tree hill, Thorndon/Weald, and the odd trip to Epping. Was anyone else on here a former member of Basildon CC when we kind of started their mountain bike section? Used to compete in the Essex Winter Series and the Eastways races.
Moved out to Morzine 9 years ago and have just switched back to an 'old school' steel hard-tail to re-awaken my riding.
Great to see there's such a thriving riding scene going on back home - haven't ridden in the UK for 9 years now and won't get a chance when I visit at the end of this winter but would love to come back for a blast round some old haunts at some point.
