Epping, got a mate coming around and he hasn't ridden in months so we just going for a cruise around Epping.

I might be up for an Epping run this weekend, had a stinking cold the past week so will have to be an easy one.

Noel what time you looking at riding?

9.30am at Danbury (don't forget to put your clock forward!).

I'll be wearing fullface and pads, but depends what you're doing there. Most wear fullface, but some just have xc or dirt lids.

Good ride today ,
Bloody quick at Danbury today, lots of little kids standing on the table at the bottom not doing anything, ended up going into one, the bike took the impact ;)

bent my rear mech so hopefully a vice and some pliers will sort it out :(

Nice seeing everyone and Roll on tomorrow

Good seeing everyone there today. Long sesh till dark, well I thought it would be until at about 4:30ish when my mech hanger decided to shear off and send my rear mech into my spokes, causing spoke damage and eating the mech in the process, so not too bad! ;) BTW if anyone is concerned as to where it happened (probably not), I was quite lucky as it happened at the start of the run. I hate to think what would have happened if I had been flying down at speed via bluebells in 'the zone' etc :(

EDIT: Just found out that Cycles UK have Specialized hanger 'C' for £10 in stock. SORTED. Just need to sort the spokes and rear mech itself out now. Might as well get a new cassette and shifter while I'm at it. Thinking of running a 9 speed 11-28t cassette with a smaller ring up front, maybe a 30t or such.

Any suggestions chaps about a new shifter/mech/cassette combos?, as none of my shitty little ALTUS mechs will work properly, so I'm going to upgrade I think. LOL I certainly can't downgrade anyway! Combo needs to stand up to DH abuse and Danbury etc. I'm thinking saint at moment or x5.

P.S. Brad mate, yes this does unfortunately mean no 2 days in a row for me. So I won't be able to see you there 2moz bud. Got next two weeks off so will try and make this Monday ye old repair day and ride danbury Tuesday/Wednesday as it looks to be bloody hot indeed.

Haa, so today claimed 3 mechs
John, Adams and mine.
I would go for either the x5 or x7, don't know anything about saint

I've got XT, Saint and X9. - Saint all the way, shifts with a SLAM - you know your in gear, and has never slipped, ever.

got mine on a good deal at CRC so should be a good upgrade for less money than X9 aswell
