Back on topic in here, rather than in the photo/video thread
rode the bike for all of 60 seconds last night along the road and back, the rear shock feels very very soft, i measured the sag and all that jazz, i've downloaded a manual for it (FOX dhx5.0 coil) and also watched a pinkbike tech tuesday on setting it up, the manual makes common sense reading and i followed that for each setting, the pinkbike vid says you need to do things in a certain order ? no mention of that in the manual so i started at page one and went through, the manual does things in a different order to the pinkbike vid
whilst on the bike i tried a simple bunny hop and because the bike soaked up all my pre-load i almost launched myself into a wall and failed to hop at all.... a horrible feeling ! deciding it was all to soft i put it back in the garage but thought i'd check the pressure, i initially set it at 125psi to make all the other settings, when i checked it it was right down to 100 so i pumped it up to 200 and the bike seemed a lot firmer but i didn't have time to actually sit on a ride so there is some work to do here understanding what does what as the shock is maxed out at 200psi apparently
I have the pro pedal wound right up to max, the bottom out wound right up to max, the boost control wound right up too ?
pinkbike vid hereI have no ideas of the previous life of this shock so it may be fubar'd ? or i may just need to swap put the 450 coil for 500 or stiffer to get the ride i want ?
