So hello

I just got myself a mountain bike bike and landed up here looking for places to ride. I live in Forest Gate on Wanstead flats so Epping Forest starts at my front door which is handy.

I had been commuting for a year or so before my knees decided that they had had enough, a year or so on and they work again so I tried out a few of the local paths etc on my Scott hybrid..... found that this wasn't the best bike for the job so I got myself a Hardrock 29er.

I've only been out a couple of times but I've discovered that the Hardrock is much better then the Scott for this sort of thing :wtf: and I'm really unfit again :(

Anyway I look forward to joining in on a few rides when I can make it for more than 30mins without the need to sit down and have a rest

Hi Simon

Yep up for some weekend rides ;) but I wasn't joking about how unfit I am  so the pace would be.... slow.

To give you an idea I made from Wanstead flats to Woodford Golf course and back again which is about 15k at 15kph and I had to stop at the halfway point . That said I did enjoy it and it's halfway to my target of High Beech and back :wtf:

Yeah it's quite surprising how your fitness comes along if you keep at it!
