Just thought i'd put up abit of info about my weekend away in North Wales with my brother and his family. Last year my brothers mother-in-law booked up a holiday home in Barmonth (which just so happens to be about 20 minutes away from coed-y-brenin (you can see where this is going)). I agreed to come along for a few day to catch up with everyone and get a bit of riding in. After a few beers and disscusing different riding locations in north Wales we came up the great idea of riding up Snowdonia, deal was set.

Fast foward 6 months and i can now prouldly say i have riden up Snowdonia. Starting in the town of Llanberis at 730 in the morning, it took us 2 hours 15 minutes to get up and around 30 minutes to get down (would of taken a lot less for me but was waiting for my brother as hes not as skilled lol and the odd walker to slow down for and say morning to them as they gave us evils). Its more of a hike at times than a ride up and its hugely different to riding a trail center but its deffently a different challenge! 900 metre verlical climb

This is something I've wanted to do for ages but never found the time. You did it in very good time!

You can't use the train to get bikes up I'm afraid as they count as bulky luggage. There is an agreement that you don't ride the mountain between 10 - 6 in the summer months. In the Vidio they did the rangers path down while we just went back down the same way as we went. Did not do the marin trail that they use for the trail centre comparison, mostly due to time constraints with my brothers misses and little one. It's deffently a challenge that I'd like try again (to improve times on) and try a different route down. One of the things that we disscussed was what bike to take up, mine was a tad weighter than I'd have liked on the Ups but brilliant for the downs, good practice for cwm carn dh this weekend!
