Anyone done any of the Enduro 1 races? And anyone raced at Aston Hill?

I'm considering it?

VWSurfbum, NickTKS and a couple of other off here are doing this, they did the Quatocks round and did the Forest of Dean yesterday. Looks really good though. I'm sure they'll be along with feedback.

I am really keen on it! I have my stumpy up for sale due to lack of use. But if this sort of riding is going to be a regular occurance I may pull it off the shop floor.

What travel bikes are you guys generally on?

I was on my 150 travel YT yesterday, i wouldnt say you would need anymore, but there were guys on full on DH bikes, but i dread to think what they were like after the 10.6 mile transition after stage 1 to 2!

Video's are uploading.

I did it yesterday, did keep a look out for you guys but i was in the competitive class so started earlier than you guys I believe.

They seem to have lost the point of gravity enduro......transitions are there to get you to the next stage, rather than knacker you out. with fod's abundance of downhill stuff, it was all very flat and rather short, and not particuarly technical. I may enter aston hill, but thought they were making it an elite only entry?

Much preferred the uk gravity enduro rounds I've done, longer and more technical stages, without unecessary transitions.....

very chilled out atmosphere though, and the people racing were all decent.

Aston is supposed to be elite entry only and it looks like the last one isn't going to run now.

It's for competitive only. But their discription of competitive is ride more than twice a week and can deal with arduous terrain for more than 3 hours. That sounds like most of us? Or am biengI naive here?

What class have you guys been running?

I rode competitive yesterday and found it fine. I might email Carlos and find out how much uphill there will be in it.

The xc track at aston hill is short but very steep, it's not too bad...

Would love to do the dh tracks as more of an enduro set up though.

Very flat and not particularly technical? Did we do the same route? I thought it was fairly challenging and probably the toughest 18miles I've ridden in a while, maybe wouldn't of hurt as much if it wasn't as sloppy and churned up.

Ha, maybe we ride different stuff, just didn't really seem challenging. I expected longer, steeper, more technical stages. Also the 12k transition was just a waste of energy, they don't really seem to have captured the real point of gravity enduro.

If you had a good time that's all that matters I guess.

From what he was saying to us is they will be using the XC up and the S2A up a couple of times, and S2A "Will" be used.

For this reason i'm out. I think me riding that terrain with tired legs will only end badly.
