Hi guys!
I live in Camden and looking to get out more at the weekends to mountain bike more. I have no car...I see there's a lot of people on this page in the same situation! I haven't done much biking near London at all. Would love to be able to get to the trails accessible by train from London with a few people to do some single track or a few good rides through some forest etc.
I was thinking of finding a trail this Saturday- any suggestions? Anyone fancy it if it's not snowing?!!

Hello and welcome!

Your best bets are Epping and Thorndon (my local and always a sunday riding happening) for getting to by train. Not sure how friendly national rail are when it come to muddy bikes but there's oneway to find out

I never had a problem from staff with bike on train, only from passengers.

Only thing to look out for is engineering work. No bikes on or under coach!

Keep your eye on ride calender in top right corner should be loads coming up weekly

I live in Old St and occasionally head over to Thorndon by train from Liverpool St or I drive to Swinley Forest. Welcome to join sometime.

I'm also doing an Evans MTB Sportive this Saturday down in Woking, going to post a new subject and see if anybody else is going.

Keeping an eye on the calendar is your best bet, things normally pickup around Wednesday Thursday.

Hi people,
i am new to this site and am looking to find a great place to ride and with in group, i live in london (stoke newington) and there are not many places where i can do mountain biking. The nearest place to do so is hampstead heath which does not offer much but still is the closest thing to riding the trails in epping forest is there any one i can ride with or in a group? also is there a pecific time i can get there by and meet with people?

Keep an eye on the ride calendar (top right of the screen) for upcoming rides, or post in the XC rides section and create a ride and see who else will come along...

I am always up for a ride now i have my 29er, been out the last few sundays with a few friends, only problem is the guy who leads he knows the trails so we just follow him! but always willing to hook up in Epping as haven't ridden it much and would like to get out there more as I am only down the road.

if anyone fancies a ride this sunday just drop me a PM, as I should be free, i can easily chuck the bike in the car and drive upto epping, if not i will always ride either saturday or sunday, as long as the missus doesn't have me doing jobs

mate i would love to, but i only restarted riding in Dec and only back on the MTB a few weeks ago, i reckon i might have to be towed round the course

if it's not that hardcore, and it's only a couple of hours i would love to pop down and at least say hi to people, as i haven't met or been out with anyone yet, i normally ride with my friend noel and a couple of other guys.
