There's three I've found but can't decide which one?

661 Comp about £60
Bluegrass Explicit £100
or
Uvex 9 £90

all are full face as I like my teeth ;)

Would prefer to spend the least but not if there's a huge difference in quality/ design and build. Need to order it today. Any other idea's around the £100 mark much appreciated?

Google around on full face lids... some are definetely not as good as others...

There was a spat a few months ago after a full face lid mouth guard was flipped round and did more damage to the riders face/mount than the accident did.

I just tried looking for the post but couldn't find it... sorry

That was the urge all mountain lightweight lid thing, it acted like a scoop when the guy crashed and forced his face into the floor rather than skidding along it, pretty nasty stuff

I Know SurfEv has crash tested his 661 full face lid and can say it offers good protection

I have FOX XC lid and it fits nice and snug and offeres good rear neck protection, also have a Giant full face lid for those bigger tree and rock moments...

Cheers Chatman, I ended up ordering the 661 in the end. I've seen quite a few people wearing them so can only assume they're OK. Plus the fact that they were on sale was a bonus.

You really should go and try them on first, everyone has a different shape head and the manufactures all have different internal head shapes. A poorly fitted helmet will not offer great protection and if you don't find it comfortable then you prob wo'nt be happy riding with it.

Can you order them all and then return the ones that aren't right?

I've already spoken to the guys I've ordered from and they'll exchange it if the fits not right. Hopefully it will be. I would have bought it locally but there's nowhere near here to try them out for size.

Providing the 661 Comp fits alright, you'll be fine with it. I used mine for a year and had some pretty epic falls with it on and I'm alright (thats debatable but i was born like it rather than it being caused by a crash).

Lid arrived this morning and for £52 delivered I'm very happy with it. It fits like a glove. It also means if I get time I can head up to Enfield or over Danbury at some point this weekend.

nwmlarge: Yeah I used Stanley Cycles the last time I had a problem with my bike and they were good guys to deal with. Will be using them in the future.
