Hi mate, how ar you getting along with the Canyon, it's on my long list of possible new bikes......have you given it a proper test yet?

Can't fault it, a few run outs to langdon hilks and 2 trips to Surrey hills the last one an all day'er 52km climbing over 5,000ft in total the bike climbs as good as it decsends. I only paid 1600 for mine but I would gladly pay the full price now for one. I think their size finder was spot on as well. And I don't think anyone has said they don't like the look of it.

Great looking bike that, good to see it climbs as well as it goes downhill. I've been leering over their website this afternoon, did wonder if it might be too heavy/overkill compared to the Nerve for XC/trail use but I guess if you get one of the lighter variants you could use it for anything.

I looked at the nerve but as I have a 120mm fs trail/XC bike already, one I would never part with, I thought the way to go was the strive. None of the strives are very heavy and I think there's only just a kilo or so difference between the top and bottom of the ranges.
I think we may see a few more canyons arriving........

I'm also thinking about buying a Strive and just wanted to know how you're getting on with yours?
Have you had any issues with the freewheel in the rear hub?
What is the frame like for pedal-kickback?

Have you got anything bad to say about it?! Pretty sure I'm gonna buy one, but want some feedback from owners! I'm trying to get to see one in the flesh, but as I live near Plymouth there don't seem to be many around my way!

Quite a few reviews on the internet, all are positive.

I would wait for the 2014 models though. Interested to see the spec on them. Im also really keen on buying one, but depends on spec, as 2013 fox had a lot of problems, and have read reviews that the new RS Pike is the trail fork of 2014........

Fabien Barel rides one, and ive heard he's pretty good.

I think I'm right in saying Lopes and Gracia have also perfromed quite well on them.

The trouble is, all three of those guys can ride pretty darn good, so I'm sure you could put them on a £50 Halfords special and they would still ride rings around us all!

I've managed to arrange to meet up with a guy at the weekend who has one, but it's a large frame and I'll need a medium, so will be a bit of an odd test!

The better the bike you have, usually it will make you ride better anyway.....

Hope the test goes well mate. I tried Jon's on here, he had a medium and felt slightly too small for me.

Im about 5"11 and would likely go for a large.

Cheers. I'm about 5'9", but I like smaller frames anyway. My current Ragley Blue Pig is a 17", and whilst it is slightly short for climbing, the smaller frame makes it much more agile for descending.

I'll let ya know how it goes at the weekend, probably by telling you I've ordered one...!

That's what worries me, I reckon I'll be in between a medium and a small, so I maybe want to order a small, but I'm not sure yet.
I've sorted a test on a large frame, but I have one other bloke who may let me have a play and I don't know what size his is yet, so there's still hope...!

Hi guys, I love mine so far. My exact one was reviewed this month in mountain biking uk mag and didn't do that great, on paper they said it was the one to beat but on the trail the shocks let it down as they were to linear, that's a new one on me! The frame however is "absolutely excellent"
Canyon said its set up for the average rider, I'll never be anything more than an average ride so for what I paid for it it's the one for me and I won't mind upgrading a few things. XX1 etc.
Tyres are a bit on the big side but I won't change them till i need to. I suffer with the stand over height a bit, if my nuts are in the wrong position you can guess what happens ! So rather than jump forward over the top tube I put the seat down as I stop.
It's a genetic thing, long body and short legs.
The brakes are bloody brilliant and the clean lines of the reverb stealth speak for themselves.
So to sum up, if you can tell the difference between a linear and non linear shock and fork? Wait for 2014. If you can't and can get a new one for what I paid £1600, go for it! And if you are a shortie like me you are more than welcome to have a try, all major credit cards welcome!
