Hi people :)
I bought Thor Force 2 with cosmetic damage [size Small] from bicycle store but When I got it I realized its MX or Motosport helmet... As its written on sticker of helmet "British Motorcycle Sport".. And I looked for info about this helmet on google every there MX MX MX.....
So my Question is what is the difference between MX and DH full face helmets?
And now do I have to buy MX goggles to fit my helmet or they are are same MX and DH ?
I think its bigger then DH helmet...
any recommendation for goggles?

I had this dilemma recently when ordering my full face, MX helmets were really cheap and it took a while to find out the difference between the MTB and MX set up. The most important is probably the collision, from what i understand they take impacts differently due to the testing they go though (i may be wrong but its what other were saying). Also you dont get as many air holes with an mx. In the end i went with the mtb 661

Ya thanks Muddy. I just found whole topic about it here:
http://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomme ... adid=55245

MTB Full face helmet= More ventilation, less weight,
MX = Less ventilation, more weight, but much stronger when MTB
Weight difference is between 300-400g as I've seen so far.
I'm just gonna buy MX goggles Thor too as I believe same brand should fit best.
Well next time I will know what to buy :)

Mx helmets are designed for different type of impacts and are not really ideal for mtb everyone i know that had one quickly changed it there is an old thread on here somewhere explaining the risks!

Dirt mag had a feature on MX v MTB full face, the results were that MX helmets are heavier/stronger but this isnt neccasarily a good thing, they are designed for higher speed impacts and it has been said that although the helmet is stronger and wont break as easily all that extra force would be transimtted into your head/brain/neck..MTB helmets aredesigned to asorb lower speed impacts better and even break. I would of thought the same googles would fit.

It is worth noting that light weight/good ventalition is a good factor especially if you are gonna spend long periods in it, for example week in Alps/Spain, etc

Thanks Andy your explanation is best :)
Well still I'm gonna stick with it :) Just next time I need to look for better ventilation helmet. On high speed I can feel wind and its venting ok. For downhill it's good and very comfortable.
