Ive been racing the UK Gravity enduro rounds and a few of the Enduro1/Xfusion events as well, and the season is winding down now.

They are the toughest races I have done in terms of fitness and ability, as its essentially four or five downhill races, usually longer than most downhill tracks, with uphill thrown in, and then riding between them.

I can only recommend doing it though. The enduro1 series have a sport class, which a few guys from here have entered, which is non competitive but still a good standard. I'm going to be entering most enduro races next year in both these series, so give me a shout if you are looking at them.

I actually marshalled for the enduro1 race at aston hill last weekend (wasnt racing due to injury), and had a really good time, and was good to see the other side of racing.

Me and Nick did the Enduro 1 this year, i was a complete novice to this type of racing, if your DH orientated with a good level of fitness you'll do fine.
I come from very flat XC background compared to where we were riding and it was a massive eye opener, apart from spending most of my time on my back (it was wet) on the first two races but on the 3rd it was very dry and i stayed upright! as long as we had a laugh its all good . Next year hopefully i'll do a little better and know what to expect.

Enduro is the best! Definitely the most chilled races out there. The One Industries races are only 3 stages, about half the length of a normal enduro so they could be a good place to start

Hi
I have been converted to long distance off road racing as you have great fun and over a long distance it evens out when fast people come to a halt and as long as you plod on and do 100 % effort you are in with a chance of getting a result.
It is not in the racing its getting out there and having fun. everybody is welcoming and helpful and you can only surprise yourself in the process.
Give you another reason to get out and ride.
Have not been out riding for a couple of weeks and still managed Sundays race .
Have fun the rest will follow ( or in my case will follow them )...
Then it is up grade or get a lighter carbon bike or a go faster jersey or even A CAMERA .
