I agree with using cleaner on pads n rotors, and keeping them uncomtaminted, if they do get contaminated or if there is air on system they tend to get shiny n useless although sonetimes csn be saved with emery papet or ive used some carborundum grit paste with success. Ive found many local spots just dont have enough long steep runs to really wear/burn pads in especially harder metal/sintered ones whereas for example a single run in the alps would burn them in great
. I recrntly went through 3 lots of pads and nearly my rotors too in 2 weeks, riding all day every day
