I stumbled across Belhus woods the other weekend, it was very muddy/boggy though. Can you string a worthwhile loop together? Seemed very flat though. Are there any good bits?

There's some good flat loops in belhus, too muddy in the winter though, when it's used to get to hornchurch country park or Davy Down, as Simon says.

The best route when the weather is like this is the thames loop:

22 miles, mostly off road. It's what I'll be doing if the weekend is dry.

I wouldn't bother touching belhus at the moment, was there on Sunday and it doesn't seem to be draining at all, was at least 4 inch gooey mud almost everywhere

Thorndon/Warley/Hartswood etc all very muddy apart from the lesser used and leafy bits, virtually unrideable in some places.
Put a foot down and it goes into 6 inches of thick mud, some comedy moments getting out of that.

You can use the fire road loop over Thorndon, if raining the night before it can turn into a nasty grinding paste at times which your bottom bracket may not take kindly too ;)

I popped up there earlier and did one bombhole run, i would say it still needs to be left alone for a few days as its soft on the burms and slippery in places. rideable but not great.

Cyclopark bone dry, bit of cross wind on the rock gardens added to the fun......but all that wind has dried the trails just nice.....

Danbury was running real good on Saturday, man it was good to get back over there, and runs have been manicured too :) :) but there needs to be a bigger berm where the trails (two drops and the two berms) merge by that small tree as we were carrying a lot of speed through there making the tree a bit more of a threat than it ever used to be !!

It doesn't matter what you ride
