Hi all,
Mark here. Getting back into cycling after 14 months off. Most of my experience has been on the road but I've had a specialized FSR XC since 2008. My lay off was due to type 2 diabetes that I failed to control or except due to a combination of ego and disbelief. I've now decided to get back in the saddle as jogging is so boring! I live in Stanford Le Hope so Langdon hills is nearest to me and Thorndon is only 15 minutes away. I'm looking to ease back into mtb so look forward to seeing you out and about on Sunday mornings. Thanks for reading this post.

Mark

Welcome along, i also have diabetes and controlling it can be a PITA when doing lots of activity but i'm finding my feet and actually some common sense has really helped, like put full sugar orange juice in your camel back rather than the low sugar ones that i've had all my life, then every time you take a sip you get a bit of energy !! I cant believe i didn't realise this earlier, its so simple ! Also remembering that your body continues to burn the carbs off after the event for quite sometime is the one to watch, it makes me a bit nervous of any driving after a big riding session unless i have some carbs with me to tuck into !

It doesn't matter what you ride

Hi,
I am type 2 as well ,
Also Thyoids neck ones not rear (spelling terrible )
Blood pressure
colestrial as well.
Least i do not pay for perscriptions when i come off the bike...........
I just eat and eat and ride and ride and always carry something to eat -biscuits sweats bars water squash
When I get wobbly I just eat up , man up and carry on.
