I've done this route twice over the weekend but starting at Cheshunt and ending at Camden town. The weather was perfect and thoroughly enjoyed how busy it was everywhere. Just ordered a horn for the bike to warn people I'm hurtling through

I've done similar route along the greenway & river lea then T's off along Victoria Park up to Camden Market! Had to come off on A1 then down Liverpool Rd & back on at Caledonian Rd ! nice route but as you say quite busy!

Yeah as you say very busy towards camden. I did get lost for a bit in Islington when you have to come off the canal and rejoin it on the otherside of the the street though, I've managed to keep the GPX but it's a bit of a mess tbh

Did from Hooks Marsh car park down to the Bromley by bow and back Saturday.
First time id ridden southwards and was surprised how pleasant it was considering its through what I would perceive as some of the rundown areas of north/east London. Got a bit lost trying to follow route 1 as it doesn't follow the canal all the time. and missed 2 turns on the way back so ended up riding both sides around the marshes and from Waltham abbey up to Hooks Marsh.

Did you stop in the park between hackney and bow by any chance? It was a good place to stop Sunday and take a breather

I regularly commute to the wharf from south woodford, but that's by road have ridden the cut and the canal once early on a sunday morning it was amazing, would be up for doing it again one weekend.

did an interesting ride this monday, from south woodford with a friend via hainault into havering country park over to a friends, totally different to what we have done previously, bit of road and a bit of forest.

Last time i road a tow path (near edmonton) it was full of irate fishermen with their rods across the path, really slowed progress, has it changed?

Yeah. There were a few fisherman but they were next to the river so not in anyway a problem. The only problem were foreign families that didn't want to give way or have any consideration for other people using the path. Another problem were people on Boris bikes riding next to each other taking up the whole path and couldn't give two hoots about anyone else. "Rant Over"

Definitely need to install a bell back on the bike if doing it regular. The nicer the day the busier the towpath gets from the experience of an irate angle, lol. The hooks marsh stretch is un ridable when its nice.

Yea it does get a tad busy and the runners with headphones in don't help either, people wondering along and not paying attention also.

I felt like doing that a few times. Tolerance wears thin with ignorant selfish people that can see you coming

Maybe it will be different when there is a few of us riding at 30mph flying past them. Would love to see them jump.
