Hi all,

complete beginner based Ongar, bike arriving this weekend and looking to get out on it asap xc and trail riding.

Any suggestions for good websites for kit would be much appreciated, looking forward to meeting up.

Thanks,

Hi Marc,
Its a slippery slope once you've started buying things.

The default online shop is http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ as you can get near enough everything.
I look at all sites and worth keeping an eye on the Vouchers/offers/deals thread on here for the latest deals etc.

Once you start "needing" to bling, people like http://www.superstarcomponents.com/ can come in handy.
Other bargain places to keep an eye on
http://www.merlincycles.com/
http://www.on-one.co.uk/
oh the list is endless.

Check the ride calender at the top right for any local rides.

Welcome along.

Be careful of 'cheap' things too.... cheap very rarely means good
If you see something you like the look of put it in google and just bang "review" after it, everything has a review, but then everyone has an opinion so suck it and see.

And if you find anything at a good price, we also like a bargain as well...

Best hide the credit/debit cards now... Oh and tell the wife/girlfriend the bike came out the factory with all that kit on it... We all do :-)

Thanks for all the feedback - On that slippery slope already, thinking I might need to upgrade the rear derailleur - haven't even picked the bike up yet !
