I had a quick ride around Epping on Wednesday and it wasn't as bad as i expected. The only bits that are still muddy are some of the sort of rutty puddles. The rest of it was dry. The half dry ruts are the annoying ones, you just stick to them.

Bugeye, you should have been there on Wednesday, i had loads of dodgey moments. haha.

Good stuff

Haha, no way. I meant that boggy Epping trails wont be as fast rolling as the thurrock loop we did with Cheetah on Wednesday. It was good as long as the pace is fast to make it challenging. Personally, I would prefer the 10mph muddy Epping rooty trails over a 20mph flat dry fast rolling one so you have my vote there. I dont want an easy ride. ;-)

Bring on next Sunday :high5:

 what are you ... some sort of lunatic daredevil.... us Epping boys like to keep it safe at a max* of 9 mph

* Obviously this is a maximum speed... riding at this sort of pace all day would just be silly

Keiran, you can 'upgrade' to an electric MTB mate.

Bugeye, Tolga wont be getting that time again now that he is on proper knobbly tyres. Last time I remember going up that hill he was flying on slicks...as if his 50kg body weight was not enough of an advantage eh?

Sorry guys for getting lost again :( hope you haven't spend too much time looking for me. I had to stop to clear my rear derailleur of gunk and sticks from those mud puddles, could shift my gears properly. Long story short got to some pond, asked people around and followed direction they pointed, but that was prob different group. After 20 mins I gave up and went down to Loughton, wish I had some of you phone number.

Anyway thanks for the ride, and sorry for being slowcoach, otherwise I wouldn't get lost if I could keep up. Will practice on my own and join you when I have more endurance if it's still ok.

Radd

P.S. F**k hills ;)

Hey Radd...,. sorry we lost you :( my fault really as I thought we had everyone when we came out of that section

Don't worry about your pace or feel that you need to ride at a certain speed to join the ride. It's a group ride and no one minds waiting ( or being waited for ) it's all part of it. I should get used to doing a head count when there's a few more people than normal along

By the way.. the thing about the hills is they never actually get any easier.. you just ride up them faster ;) or in my case today rather slower than my best times :(

Otherwise a really enjoyable ride today... maybe the first ride of the summer  with lots of dry lines and pretty minimal mud :D

Nice to see the new faces
