I've noticed that my 160mm Lyrik (u-Turn) coil have started sagging a lot more than i ever remember, maybe i've eaten too many pies ? but the reality is I've lost weight since i first got them , Nick (pedalworx) gave them a bit of a service a long time ago and fitted a new mission (could have been motion ? its the posh one LOL) control valve and fresh oil but here's whats happening, the reason for this post is because someone has just posted an X-firm spring for sale which i might need and don't want to miss it??
The bike sits up at 160mm when i'm not on it, when i get on initially it drops (not 100% on how much it drops) then as i go on longer rides i can notice that they have dropped right down to 140 at least and the bike feels low slung and odd so i'm wondering if i'm just too heavy for whatever spring is in them ? but wouldn't it drop down and stay down right away ?
If i pop a wheelie or jump of anything i can feel the forks extend with a slight clunk so the rebound must be pretty quick (or the front wheel heavy) so i doubt they are creeping down because its too slow and i tend to wheelie and jump a lot
to make things worse, the bike handles great, jumps beautifully and soaks up any unpleasant heavy hits but the suspension does feel a little soft in those conditions, but it never bottoms out, perhaps the 20mm of sag is correct but why doesn't it do it from the get go, i'm not sold on this excuse though ??
any thoughts
