I decided after reading an article on how a good set of tyres can almost revolutionise your bike to get some to replace the hard/plastic compound ones I'm currently running so I chose a set of Hans Dampf Super Gravity which are tubeless ready, what I didn't bargain for was the total nightmare in fitting them....aaaaaargh! I use tubes at the moment so I'm not sure whether this attributed to the hard task in simply trying to get the tyre on the rim, I snapped a plastic lever and had to use metal ones. After marking the rim loads I eventually got a tyre on only to find I'd pinched the tube in my struggle It was actually harder to get the tyre off though & in doing so I see the bead is slightly damaged in one area due to my efforts Now I've changed umpteen tyres in my time without problems so I'm eager to know what I was doing wrong??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, oh & try not to embarrass me anymore than I feel right now

Tubless ready tyres have tighter bead tolerances so are normally harder to get on the rim. Putting a bit of soapy water around the rim first helps the tyres slip on. Also tubeless tyres on a non tubeless rim will nearly always be hard to get on. I recommend a good set of tyre leavers like this from Pedro's (they do a downhill screwdriver like lever).

Drop them off at the local bike shop and then do some overtime and earn more than the bike shop charge.

Also Topeak Shuttle Tyre Levers 1.2 are good They don't scratch your rims very strong

I run a Hans Danf on the front , wot rims you running mine are tight! you hav to make sure you push the bead right to the centre of the rim when fitting the tyres you will find they will go on a lot easier as the bead does tend to sit on the outer edge of the inside rim(if that make sense)
