Knowing there are quite a few of us with young families how do you guys feel about having a family day/ride/bbq/picnic over somewhere like Epping or Thorndon? My 2.5 year old loves bikes, so much so that if I go out without him he gets into a good tantrum lol. Some of you saw him today on his red balance bike over Epping.
The idea would be to have a get together with our other halves, kids, food and drink, games and bikes, maybe short bike rides with the kids and possibly a proper little blast if possible.
You don't have to have kids to come just bring your other half or just yourself for a fun get together. You may even be able to get your other half and kids into the sport if they aren't already, I'm quite lucky that my other half likes riding but unlucky that she knows how much stuff costs when I buy it
I was thinking about maybe doing it one weekend during the summer maybe July so hopefully the weather will be OK.

Let me know what you think about the idea. :)

Good good, anybody else fancy a social day? Don't forget it's just gonna be a fun get together not just for families.

Joel I'm sure by July Anna will be ripping around, I have to ride my bike to keep up with Ben now :o .
Noel trailers will be a great move but obviously no single track lol. I've just bought a Weber baby seat to go in our trailer and took out our 8 week old on Saturday. She seemed to enjoy it...well she didn't cry so that's a good thing. :)

Bring mini Gturn and Cara along anyways, it's not just about the riding, maybe a BBQ, picnic, games and chat.

Ok guys are you still interested in the family day/ride? I am suggesting either the 24th or the 31st of July and I thought the South Car park area of Thorndon as there is a huge field space around the octagon cafe for kids to play and ride on (or the forest for the mnore adventurous) and for picnics etc. There is also an area for bbq's if people want to do that but alternately picnics or food from the cafe which is quite good.
Obviously this can be open to change depending on how people feel.
Let me know.

I think we are still okay Mr Greg. Must get a bike rack for the new car at some point though!
