I'll try to get there by 11am so I can see some of you guys at the finishing line in the open race category.

I kept an eye out but didnt see you either peter. I was near the back of the starting grid. I struggled with that today, didn't put in enough training in the last few weeks so that didn't help.
Great course though and weather was perfect.

I came across one of the youth riders in a bush so I stopped and helped him out. I had no chance of catching up after that but couldn' just leave him there.. The poor kid was cut up and shaking, cracked his helmet to

I was looking for the 207 number but couldn't find it, Peter. Arrived at 11am.
The course was very hilly and brutally fast! I had an epic battle with a guy I met at the Beastway series where he always easily beat me. We swapped positions easily 10 times. I was stronger at the steepest climbs but he was faster going downhill, at the 2nd half of the long climb ( I had to climb seated and he was standing on the bike) and in the flat. I had a good fith lap and took one minute from him.
I felt like it took me more than usual to feel good. Probably because I've been doing more medium and long distance rides, races. 2nd half of the race felt better and my last lap was the fastest.
Finished 13th of 37 in vets. I was 21sth after first lap and 18th after second. I expected better results but I was very happy I beat those 2 guys I was battling with in the last lap.

Yeah thanks for the info vw, pretty good description actually. I did overdo the first bunch of hills and coming up to that first steep drop it did get a little crowded so I held back a touch.

For me I wanted to experience a good race so I know more of what to expect next year when I'll be entering quite a few. Training is high on the priority list
