Just returned from there. Pete and Martin met me a the car park. It was foggy, damp and the trail mixed with some boggy parts, tarmac double track...Not very crowded, that was good. At the furthest point of the route, 5km past Wendover, we ate our sandwhiches and they returned back to the car park. I took the shortest line to East London.
This route is a good long term challenge for spring/summer

Hope you guys enjoyed it!
How long where you out for? I was contemplating joining up but the 8am start was a bit to much for me today. The images of the surroundings looked really nice, would love to come out on an all day sping/summer ride.

Yes it was a good ride :) harder in the wet and the mud but most of it is still very rideable some bits rather muddy ;)

Started off looking like this...

One puncture on the way back and Pete's bike decided that four gears would be enough for the return trip :eh:

Keep an eye open... we'll do it again.

The early start is a bit unfortunate but needed at this time of year.....

Had a great day out :D Martin, big thanks for sharing this nugget with us. Been a bit stiff today, but not as much as i was expecting tbh. Some of those climbs are killer though (for me at least) Javi was playing on them, riding up a bit, skidding then repeating this for 100 meters or so  or riding to the top then back down to see where slow Pete was. I am definitely up for some more ridgeway action in the future (dry would be nice)

After investigating the 4 out of 20 gears i found this....

My guess is that the mud clogged the rear mech, causing the cable to become slack inside the shifter when i changed gear, then getting caught and bent some how. Was a real pain in the ass yesterday, but on the plus side its a new cable and not a new shifter
