Hi everyone. I'm Dave. Just got into Mountain biking, I bought a Whyte 801 a month or so ago, quickly got bitten by the bug and now have a Specialised 2015 spec Enduro Comp. It is running a tubeless setup and I added the Command post. The pedals were carried over from the my previous bike.

I bough the Whyte primarily as a means of exercise, but soon found a few forums to read and realised there are many trails etc in the UK. Hence I upgraded myself to the Enduro. I was going to get the Stump Jumper, but something pulled mw to the Enduro. I've done 40K over the last tow days on it (mainly mud roads, farmers roads etc), it's an amazing bike with much more ability than I have !!

I'm in the process of figuring out the essentials needed for getting out and about with the bike, so a tow hitch and Thule Bike Carrier are on the list, plus whatever I need to physically take with me.

I'm guessing a good Helmet, I have a road helmet, but I'm thinking the Bell Super R2 might be the best bet to meet all riding needs, road, trail, downhill etc.

Other bits I'm getting are a Co2 inflater, I have a spare tube, I need tyre levers, I have a multi tool. What else?

I'm also looking for any good recommendations for a hydration pack with enough room to carry the bits in.

I'm looking forward to getting on some rides, I looked at the Epping post with envy last night, knowing that I'm not fit enough and that I couldn't get my bike over there was a real downer, but that should change soon.

Welcome and nice bike. Seems like you have a pretty good handle on whats needed. I have an Evoc Freeride backpack that fits everything i need in and has a bladder you can buy for it, but there are plenty of other options to explore.

Where are you riding at the moment?

The camelbak range is always worth a look for a decent hydration pack with space for tools etc. Its worth having a shop around though as the prices can vary from shop to shop I found, the Mule version is my favourite. Merlin cycles had some a while back which were a fair bit cheaper than most other places.

Lovely bike BTW :D

I just checked out a Mule, a Lobo and the Charge (new one). The Mule wins hands down, I can't see how you could run out of storage. Plenty of room for a jacket, tools, food etc.

I've currently got a Dakine 12L with a 3 liter badder, it's ok for the summer months but come winter it's just not big enough (shower jacket's base layers etc) all fill it up to easily, also moves about when your coming over the rough stuff!
I've brought a Evoc enduro 16l blackline for Xmas , a little on the dear side but a very well thought out back pak ,and comes with a back protector! (doesn't come with a bladder tho) but gonna use my old one ;)

Got a mule, expensive but they all are lol have not complants with it for all day wales trips, just the right sort of pockets for everything you need (big one for jacket and large items, two small ones for spares and valubles).
