I'm still looking around for a good set of rims and hubs.

I have been quoted a really good price on both a Mavic and Stans wheelset, with hope pro 2 hubs.

I want a rim that is light and string, good for tubeless setup and can cope with any terrain.

What would your preference be?

Budget?

I think the wheel set quoted to me for either brand was about £350.

Personally i dont like Hope hubs (I know everyone else here does) I'm an engineer by trade and cant stand the "donk-click"

I would go with some American classics or DT swiss hubs on either Mavic rims or similar.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at your VW on Sunday at Bedgebury. But I think I will get some Stans or Mavics built locally (Chelmer Cycles).

I just need to decide which rims and hubs.

Are Hope hubs loud then?

I thought my hope where loud until i brought a mates bike home for a service..... he has sun ringles on his and they are that loud i couldn't even hear mine lol

Lol I have them on my winter hack and I grease the free hub to stop the clank
