Hi - just got my new MTB after getting the bug or road cycling and needing my fix on the rough stuff.

Did any of you Braintree guys ever get together for a ride?

I too am a 40+ slightly tubby Braintreeite liking the leisure side of biking and on my first outing on the new MTB did the Flitchway from Braintree to just past Dunmow cuttings - very boggy In the latter section.

Felt a bit vulnerable especially past the traveller site before Dunmow and going under the A120 bridge at Dunmow confounded by the fact the chain got dislodged and jammed in the middle of nowhere!

Would be more enjoyable with a group I think.

Could organise a Flitch ride soon if people want to, just for the distance as it's not particularly exciting!
