Maybe I was expecting more from this ride. but given its location I should have seen this. As above too much tarmac riding for my liking, it was just getting interesting when another road section came up and took my enjoyment out of it.

The roadies who where MTB'ers for a day enjoyed it

Also the dual section loop where you went up around the village then back down the same track, dh was a bit scary meeting the other riders on a single track as you gained momentum dh, was a bit fun

The last feed stop was a bit like a F1 pit-stop, the roadies skidding in grabbing handful of flapjack then peddling off again, I soon overtook them on the dirt soon after

Whey hey I got 44th place on the Long ride, and yes using 29'er wheels too

I had a look at the route and it did seem a bit odd to me, I got swamped by hundreds of roadies around Little Berkhamsted, seemed a bit mad to do both rides on the same day.

Those where just out for a ride on the day. The actual Evans road ride event was on the Sunday 7th, you would have seen even more ill fitting lycra and TDF wannabes that day
