Hi people..
Just got a Garmin 500 the other week and am paranoid about the standard mount with glorified elastic bands
Not sure if I want a stem mount or bar mount..
Any recomendations..??

As long as it's a new mount then the bands take a shit load of abuse... but saying that I have the cnc'd ones for my bikes now - mainly coz it puts them a little further up front and easier to see.

Have one of those out front garmin mounts (SRAM) type, and it stayed put during the riding I did in Yorkshire DH, so very stable

The standard mount and bands should be fine on the stem, I used it like this for a while on the old bike without any problems at all.

Now with a shorter stem I've got one of the Barfly mounts, bit expensive for what it is but I like the garmin back a bit from the front of the bike.
