Gap jumps are a weird one, you need to progress up to large table tops then go back down to smaller gap jumps for a bit. Theres loads of little kicksers on the trails at surrey hills that you can practice building up speed/height/distance on

To be fair I have done a few small gap jumps now, but nothing I'd call massive yet, that would fully help me over my fear. I can clear a paticular table top around 10ft long I kept going back to and trying over and over until I did, so I just need to find that particular gap jump that is going to help me overcome it.

I think half the trouble is sometimes when you stop and look at a feature for too long you start to get worried about doing it, but in practice once you have given it a go, you think to yourself that its not as bad as you thought it would be. Things seem to look smaller at speed on a bike than standing next to it :)
