Well the Bumble Bee is finished :)

Quick ride around the car park confirms everything works as it should. Off to Llandegla at the weekend so it'll get a proper test then :D

Forecast promises that it will be warmer and the snow will be gone :wtf: :lolno:

Don't know if it really was a 'project'..... more a buy all the bits and bolt it together really ;)

Only thing I'm not happy with is the dropper post hose.... lands up in all sorts of funny places when the seat is dropped. Might just get a internal one.....

Can you route internally without modding the down tube?

Yes.... it's got a hole for internal routing.
Only using this one because it's what I had from the Soul....

It is

I've been running one on the front for a few months with a Mountain King on the back. Really liking the grip and bite in corners so thought I'd give it a go on the back as to rolls pretty well too, well not as badly as you'd expect :D

I know you've gone 30T oval but what cassette did you use 10-42 ,11-40 or 11-42..?? :D

After your Wales trip how did you find your gearing choice.??

Really tempted to go 1x just weighing up my options gearing wise, I'm still no fitter

On the back it's XT 11spd 11 - 42.

On my Soul I've got a 30 on the front and 10spd with a 42 expander

So really the same gearing as I'm used too although on a heavier bike..... sort of liked the oval ring but tbh don't think it makes that much difference at the end of the day.... I'd say 'nicer' rather than 'better' if you see what I mean.

Good thing about the 11spd is the smaller gap between the two lowest gears... bit easier to swap back and forth between them.

Bad thing with 11spd is the chain line is pretty much at the limit really and you get a problem with the chain dropping back down the cassette if you back pedal... don't back pedal I hear you say. Easier said than done if you want to reposition the pedal to restart a climb.

A 30 on the front with a 42 on the back will get you up anything you'd get up on a 10spd double.

It's easier to get better at climbing ( not that I'm good :lolno: ) you just do more climbs :D
