Hi all. Back in the saddle after 12 years out. Based on Canvey been Hadleigh a lot, cycle there in about 15mins and really enjoy it but reading some of these posts there's a lot better places in the area. Would really like to get out with some of you guys. Some of the rides sound like a right laugh.

Hi Craig, only been to Hadleigh a couple of times, would go a lot more if I could pedal there in 15 mins. I'm still in two minds about the place, its really good in places but also feels like a wasted opportunity in others.
Like putting corners in just after yumps on the blue sections, making stuff too tight and twisty when it could be faster and better flowing.
On the plus side I went the other weekend and barely had to clean the bike.

Suppose it's more of an xc course. The uphills seem to take too long for the amount of downhill time you get but as it's the only place iv been to so far I have nothing to compare it too. I've heard good things about danbury which I'd like so see and good old epping for a long day out, seem to cover a good few mile around there from what I've read on here.

Epping is good but bit of a bog at the moment, some parts ok and fire roads but those ain't as much fun as the wooded sections their.

Danbury is also good place to go, has a 12 mile xc loop to warm up then play on the jumps and runs in the common.

It's the jumps I like the sound of. I've only got a hard tail at the moment, I've done the gap at Hadleigh but all the rocky stuff I really struggle with. I do like the xc stuff, good for the mileage but I want some more fun stuff and longer downhill runs.

Definitely up for the next group ride any Sunday and I'll be there. Just trying to a roof rack out for my next car, don't fancy throwing in the back anymore. I've heard stories of people going the wrong way at Danbury so I'll tag along with someone that knows where their going.
