Hey guys!

I'm a complete MTB novice, looking to get started. Well, I've got the bike, so that's start.

No experience really whatsoever, last time I rode a mountain bike, I was about 13. I spent a few years BMXing but that was a while ago.

Any tips?

Just get a bike and start spinning wheels!

Get out on some local rides - if you let us know where you are we can point you in the right direction or keep an eye on the ride calendar up on the right of the page ;)

And welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys! Very welcoming!

I do have a helmet :) I now have gloves too.

I'm not sure what kind of riding I want to do, I'm going to lee valley with a friend in the next couple of weeks and doing some of the trails there, see how that goes. I live in Ealing, I'm not sure whats around here, I also don't have a car :(

Swinley is a good place to start as you live in west London, but it's quite a way from Ealing if you've got no car..

So, just finished my first ride the other day. I was rubbish. Stacked it once, filled the back of my calves with holes (My left leg is bandaged as have a biggish gash down the back of it) and destroyed a pedal(brand new) on a rock. BUT! I had loads of fun!
