Some of you may know that there is a weekly ride from outside 'Grips' bike shop in Rayleigh every Tuesday night.

I bumped into them once in Hockley woods and one of the guys told me about it. They do various different routes around here.... examples are Hockley woods, Belfairs / Daws Heath, Hadleigh Downs...

I was thinking of maybe tagging along with them this evening..

Anybody fancy it?

They leave from outside the shop at 7.

Just had call from my mate anyway... he can't stay out that late so we're heading out for a spin at 6 ourselves...

Maybe try and do it next week...

Do you ride from The Grove to Hockley wood and back or knock about in Hockley wood only?

I seen them grips mod ride, out of my fitness.

Not about this eve tho.

Just back as mate's curfew was lifted :)

Usually leave mine (near Tesco roundabout before Southend), head across Cherry Orchard Park and across fields and woods into Grove Wood.. Turn round and across fields / woods into Hockley Woods... Then do a few different tracks through and head back down a couple of great singletracks to rejoin Cherry Orchard and home..

Tonight's route was 17 miles :)

Really must get you guys over here one day and give you the tour :)

It would be great to add this area to the http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/riding_spots.php page - has anyone got some info on the type of riding over near Rayleigh? Pics would be awesome! but a couple of paras on the type of stuff there would be an excellent start.
