Anyone know or ridden the Scott voltage fr30?

Evans got them for £1099 at the mo' and seems a deal.

Looking for a tough FS bike, not so bothered about the uphills.

At 18st and 6ft3 do you think the large will be a good fit? Do you think the Fork springs will need increasing?

Obviously will check it for cockpit size before too.

Yeah that bikes is great, was looking at one myself a while ago, and the price is awesome.

I would say that the large would be perfect for you,

im pretty sure that the factory coil is a 400lb coil, so you would probably want to swap it over for a heavier weighted coil

If you want to demo a voltage, les cycles in canvey have them in stock and are more than happy to let you try them out.

As above really.. The cockpit is short so have a look before you buy. You defo need stronger springs. I am 13.5 stone and need an x firm spring in the front and a 500 rear. I know 6 riders with them and they all love em...!

I ride its big brother the Gambler and have found the Scott bikes to be well put together - good tolerances and serviceable parts. Have never ridden the Voltage but worth checking out this thread http://forums.mtbr.com/scott-sports/sco ... 41551.html as well as the one above.

Going back to the debate about weather or not to buy it then the one thing I would say is that, what you have will certainly do for what your riding - but if you want to do more and try more DH Fr orientated stuff then the voltage will serve you well.

Knowing I have the big bike means I commit to trips and away days to get full use of it and as such my riding has progressed. However its easier to learn skills and new stuff with less travel. The fun really begins when you can translate the skills learnt on the short travel bikes to the big bouncers as they just let you get away with lots!
