Just got back from taking the Chucker around the sea wall for a bit of exercise. Pro-tip? Don't ride the sea wall... It's just a bog. It had my wheels clogged in minutes. On the flip side, the trails down by the old oil refinery are pretty nice to ride, even if just for some (desperately needed) exercise.

Also managed to grab some snaps of the Chuckers' first off-road outing... I think it handled pretty well! Should be better once the Continental Rubber Queen 2.4's are on!

On the concrete dock thing after (barely) managing to make it though the mud!

The most unnapealing ladder in the world..

A bit further along, on the old oil refinery trails.

Random surf(?) board of unnecessity.

Back home, pre clean, with the new gloves! (Fox Platinum 'anti-scene's in black)

And finally, the old girl mid clean.

All in all, was a nice hour or two out getting some much needed exercise! (Aint christmas a bitch?) Racked up roughly 6 miles in a round trip with a bit of getting lost here and there! Welp, there you go guys. Summery of my first time gettin' down and dirty in the mud!

It doesn't matter what you ride

Where are they? http://goo.gl/maps/4iBJN All the 'lines' on the map with big empty circles either side... It's an old, unused oil refinery they built in the 70's. What do they consist of? Few small hills, fair amount of gritty, gravel&sand tracks and a hell of a lot of old concrete! Just a lot of unused land. Could have potential to be something more if people put some effort in! I know the entire area there is popular with MX riders just as somewhere to thrash about on the Island.

There used to be a mx track years ago at bottom of northwick road this land is owned by water board there could b some trails there to explore the land behind morrissons was used recently for mx use unofficial of course since been accessed denied but all round that area could hold some drops & jumps or all sorts it's just not used never really has been, I used to ride my mx there years ago & there was fun on a mx ! It's well worth exploring !!!

Definitely gonna give it a thorough look over once the ground is a bit harder/dryer. Make take another bomb down there tomorrow over the roads. There's a fence and small ditch you can hop on the new part of roscommon way between morrisons and the first roundabout along that route on the west side! ^^

Plenty of thorns if u come off the sea wall, make sure your tubeless, probably the only place in Essex not too bad for slop, plenty too explore but not too exciting....(I live on the rock ).....
