Im also new first ride was end of summer epping ride!
now you have all the advice do what i did and just get out there suck it and see you will soon sus if something is needed and if it works for you get involved with this lots rides ive learnt loads by listen to tips during rides and so far so good!

It seems every month there is a newer, more powerful light. Just find one you like, stick on your bike and you're sorted.
