Hi guys!

Was wondering if anyone fancies getting theyre shovels out in the run up to summer and doing some building in Colchester :)

Know a few spots, which everyone probably already knows, but won't mention them on here as i'm not sure if theyre on private land or not :)

There's the foundation for a REALLY nice little flowly singletrack run which, with some developing, could easily become a really nice little place to ride :)

If your interested, let me know :)

Dan

Hey Dan and welcome.

I am colchester until June, then off to NZ.

Not sure how much of colchester you already know but there are some guys working on a private place I can put you in touch with.

No van, no shovel, but willing to get one (a shovel that is, not a van, shovels are cheaper). I live a few minutes away from chitts hill/iron latch lane/halstead road, the planning permission has been granted for the southern bit to be turned into houses, with the larger, northern bit going at some point in the near future too I'm sure (posted this on bikeradar last year, I see a few of you commented on that thread then too!)

I guess the really pressing issue is the total lack of hills, and any sort of gradient :(

Who's up for a ride at Chitts Hill on Saturday?

Meet up, discuss some options and hopefully plan some stuff :)

I just got back from my regular ride which goes through chitts hill, I'd have set off earlier if I'd seen this thread, as there was no-one else there by the time I passed through!

It's actually better than I remember, there's definitely potential, but the amount of effort people would be willing to put in probably depends on when they're going to bulldoze the lot and stick houses on it...

Bit of an update guys :)

E-mailed the MP for Colchester Bob Russell the other day asking if he would support the idea, and got a letter today saying he'd love to arrange an appointment to discuss things further!

Will keep you all updated :)

Hmm, sounding promising, I still reckon it's going for housing though (I've always been a pessimist :D)

Please do keep us updated though, even if there's the smallest indication that the housing thing might not happen I'm happy to get very involved!

Chris
