muzza skinnier tyres cut through the mud to the ground below hence more grip
fatter tyres with the same size nobbles will just float on top and provide less grip

the key to riding in mud is technique and knowing when you will slide and committing to the corners

i'm not trying to patronize it really is just practice.

ideally you should run mud specific tyres but it will really depend on your budget

personally i run highroller 2.35 all year round and just adapt my riding depending on the surface.

i've ridden danbury in dust, dirt, mud and snow on the same tyres.

  There are about 9 types of highroller tyre can do a CRC link plesae. so i know which compound.

Finally got to watch it full screen, nice work, need to get me one of those cameras for sure. the only annoying thing is i thought i jumped that tabletop a lot higher then i did, still cleared it but really thought i was another couple of foot in the air lol.

As for the tyre query, i run 2.35 maxxis minnions single ply, super tacky front and normal rear. used in all weathers and really grippy, howeve i will be going for a high roller on the rear next time as a minion/hr mix is supposed to be a good combo.
