I don't mind the dropping off, it's the landings I have a problem with!!

Will take a look and give it a go on the Sunday, if I can summon up the balls.

Is the black at Pleney the one with the really fast run out near the bottom that you just drop off and ride out?

Ha..yeah..I agree with you there.

The run I was talking about is a newish one that almost goes straight down following the line of the cable car and can easily be seen as you take the car up, it has some very steep run and berms at the first bit, then the road jump, then disapears into the woods then comes out near the concrete luge run bit, not sure where it goes then..I only attempted it some years back when it was an unofficialy run and was so wet, steep and slippery it terrified me and I got off my bike.

My friend did the road jump perfectly only to fall off a few yards later, think ive got a vid somewhere of this.

Ive scanned in my latest map (well part of it that shows it) thats shows it and the other newies...and watch out for those giant cows !

Cheers, looking at this I don't think I've ridden either of the two runs to morzine even though I stayed there! Did the routes over to les gets and cut back around from there. Will have a look and hopefully give the smaller gap a go.
True, those cows are seriously big!

No worries..Done all the Pleney runs except the new black..theyve re-developed a lot in last 2 years, changing colour on some, adding new bits n bobs, the top is clearer now and easy to see where each run starts..they are all fun runs...

Route from Pleney to Les Gets is always great to start on and for newbies..plus it gives you good experience of area, thats labeled as part of the whole PDS route now (not sure if it always was), thats the only bit of PDS Ive done along with the bit that comes down from Les Gets (although sticking on the road is quite fun too).........I once mangled my derailuer at Les Gets and was thankfull that Morzine although a few miles away was all downhill.

They charge bleeding 3 euros for that map now....hope you get a freebie on PDS !

Heres the new Pleney Gap..> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BEb_jRry-4

Looks do-able for me but I'm sure it will be a different matter once I'm actually stood on it!!

I enjoyed doing the red under the Chavannes Express into Les Gets, easy but a good one to get used to coming down the mountains when you first get there. Missed out on an awesome BBQ spot during the last PDS but hoping to catch it this time!

Am going to look at coming down the red into Morzine this time when doing the PDS. Last time the route down was pretty drawn out as I remember through Les Nants and round as the map shows. More of a pain in the backside than an enjoyable section.

Still have my map from the last time but hopefully for the entry fee I'm expecting another map!!

The road back to Morzine can be a laugh. My mate got a flat coming into Les Gets and by the time it was sorted the lifts had stoped so we did a flyer down the road. Hate to say it but it did make me think that road biking might not be all bad after all.

Had a minor off but landed awkwardly on some rocks. Mostly healed but ribs and hip still hurty though getting better. gonna try jumping this week but its gonna be a last minute decision on going now. Was planning on being out there by now and looking at photos of sunny Morzine aint much consolation.

Hows things with you and Casey? been training? ;) you all booked up for accomodation and tunnel etc?
