Greetings all, am building up a cross frame as a commuter bike.

i know it will take my XT crank (triple) and front mech and also take the rear mech (XT 9 speed).

Question is if I add drop bars are there any road levers that can link to the XT front and rear mechs?

(Frame has disk brake mounts so will end up running BB7s.)

Any advice appreciated

I dont know the answer, but a bike i bought before came with a road cassette and road rear mech working on sram x7 shifters so possible it would work the opposite way around

I'm also heard about someone running a 105 shimano road rear mech with mtb shifters, but never the other way around. Also it's most common to find 10 spd shifter rather than nine.

It should all work fine as you can use both road and MTB cassettes on any bike.
