Right so I'm looking for a second stronger wheel set for my endure evo before i head off to france this summer for the mega..been looking on superstar at a custom wheel set but would like anyones opinions on them.
was gonna get Mavic EX729 rims, Switch EVO Front Hub, Trizoid Enduro QR AM/DH Rear Hub.

seemed like a good deal price wise. Any other suggestions welcome though

What about Hope Hoops AM, something like Pro2 Evo SP on Stans Flow rims, or are you a hater of the clicking?

Don't mind the clicking but need a stronger rim than the Stans Flow rims from what I've read.. hence the Mavic EX729, got to hold up for 2weeks DH punishment in the alps. To be honest its the hubs i was more interested in and also the complete build i.e if its built right?

I had the superstar dh wheels on my wilson - took any beating I could give them and Chris is now riding them too.

I've got a pair of Superleggera hubs built onto Stans Olympics - they have suited me fine. The hubs are pretty light and they engage really really quickly, so they do feel fast.

They do make an 'interesting' noise, fast clicking, kinda like pulling a zip up quickly, which is a bit of an acquired taste.... or an incentive to pedal faster.

I've not had any problems with the build, although I'm pretty light and not a terribly aggressive rider.

I have heard stories about the builds not being terribly good - however, mine seemed fine and still seems fine 2 years and no tweaking down the line.

Never used them but they were featured in Dirt Magazines top products of the year, and I hear good reviews from friends

True that, I spent all of Sunday skill-lessly ploughing through rock gardens and casing 4X jumps, and last time I looked they were still unmarked!

Did you order some ??? my back wheel is gone so need to replace all bearings and thinking to but superstar as they are best price out there . got a link from adam (northen) so just checking on you . hope i can sort it out till triscombe uplift 27. .

Hey dont know if this helps but ive just gone through the same decision. After looking at so many diffrent wheel sets and custom builds i got board and ended going for a hope factory wheel set. I guess i went for simplicity and general toughness and it helped that these were the cheepest wheelset i could find with the spec i wanted.

nothing unusual but unless you have to have the Trizoid super fast pick up i think its the best value for money

Thanks mate I shall have a browse.... Only thing is my rear hub is one of them new 142+ sizes, hard to find places that stock them

There's a wheelset test in the latest (June) issue of MBUK, and the Superstar Switch AM was well rated. Not tried 'em myself though.

A guy at Danbury was rolling them last Saturday and he came down real hard from a huge jump, burped his front tyre and flexed his front wheel enough to rub his fork - wheels were fine after and carried on riding.
