I have the chance to grab a couple of hours at Woburn tomorrow and thought I would do some trail riding. Im not posting it up for a meet up as not sure when but I am after some info if anyone has ridden XC there recently?

What's the best area to trail hunt as will only be out for 2 hrs

The bits I can see are Aspley Wood, Wavenden Wood, Back Wood and Buttermilk Wood.

Karve - How did you get on over Woburn on New Years Day?

A few of us got over there for the first time on New Years Eve and although the conditions were not the greatest we all enjoyed the day exploring the various XC trails, but agreed we wouldn't rush back until the conditions were a little better.

Hello mate - I had a great time there. I thought conditions where pretty good... most bits were dryinsh with the odd boggy turn or rut.

So first time XCing in Woburn for….er 15 years. I found a couple of great tracks. Thanks to Northern and Beardee for a few pointers

I started with one between the quarry and the road which was great. The single track up to mermaids pond was excellent too. I then looped back around towards shepherds cottage. There is a nice drop there with some good sketchy dh shoots. After a bit of messing about there I circled back to the car park on some nice fast tracks

I then crossed over the road and headed over through the jumps section and down a really fast track to an area by fullers earth lodge called tight and spikey. There were 3 ultra tight wooded tracks. The pine needles on the floor gave it that lovely crunchy pillow feeling… wicked. My favourite section by far

From there I messed about on the hill south of that and found a couple of nice trails including one which was fairly steep twisty and rutted. Then I headed along a nice traversy bit of single tract with a log ride.

The GPS started playing up after that but I did the sandy lane single track then revisited some old spots from my youth further south for old times sake. Then I made my way back to the car park picking up some of the routes from above and finishing with a savage bramble fest on a track on the other side of the road alongside the quarry.

I love finding trails :) and there are loads more to find there I am sure. Also loved the random Xmas trees everywhere.
