Hi all . Well to say it was a wash out would be a understatement.
I arrived early (sat nav worked a treat ) walked the course in the pouring rain when the ladies ( you would not reaconise any of them as they where the dirtiest girls I have seen for a long time.More rain and the Ellites /experts etc started shortly after Blues and twos Air ambulance all over the place. From my understanding a crash 2 lads /people involved both carried off jobs . One had heart arrest ? and was ressuss for a hour approx. . Not happy faces on the commissioners face and they did say he was still alive when he left (Thqat how serrious it was. ) They then re routed the course ( pointless walking then ???
My race was delayed till 3.30pm and laps reduced . It stopped raining on the race I was in but the damage was done.
I thought I was bad walking the bike in places but when I see the leaders ruuning with their bikes I new it was rough . Only one lap and not over taken by the other super vets so even they where roughing it .
All in all a long way to go for 1 lap and a wet day.
that is mtb racing in its true nature. Next one is Plymouth next month.
Happy riding .
I have sent a message to Brit cycling wishiong the rider (s) well . Anyone wish to add please send 9 as a riding community .)
Best wishes a still sick Bob .
